storm sandy. searchers have found the bodies of two boys swept out of their mother's arms on monday. now the family lost electricity at their home so the mother tried to drive to a relative's house. but her car was soon trapped by the raging waters. well they got out of the car, she started banging on doors but no one would help. that is when she lost hold of her two and four-year-old sons. >> it's a horrible story. you can't imagine a grief a parent would feel having the loss of their children. >> the mother survived. she was clinging to a post on a porch. the big storm has killed at least 37 people in the new york still area. all along the east coast 4.5 million homes and businesses still have no power this morning. and that is making the crisis even worse at the gas pumps. the outages forced a lot of gas stations to close while it's also disrupting the flow of fuel from refineries to the gas station that are open and the wait of some of the gas stations two hours long. >>> right now it looks like wall street is responding favorably to this mornings monthly jobs report for october. rel

and this is mainly due to super storm sandy peopl. this is due to people being unemployed. will bring you the numbers from wall street drop the number. no time there is pretty bad and press the rainfall that is coming down and now we're seeing some flooding. >> the heavier then start in concord walnut creek. it is not as intense as what is what wethere is heavy rain in te walnut creek area. there is rain fall more than a 10th of an inch in certain areas. light ran for the shore freeway and there are no longer heavy over the dumbarton bridge. a lot of the rand has pushed his way through the a's. as we turn our attention to the south bay it is a trek to when it will impact you. as we take a look that when that will hit the south bay it looks like you will be under some heavy rain and about 6:42 a.m.. you should really be prepared for this and as we head into the afternoon the showers will start to taper off. we do have strong whins up to 20 m.p.h. for places like half moon bay. we do have a flash flood warning to and 9:00 a.m.. as we head into tomorrow we still could see some showers ruling on and off.

coverage of the cleanup from superstorm sandy, and vice president joe biden today visited new jersey to view the damage there. after a helicopter tour of the coastal area hit by the storm, the vice president met with emergency workers who lost their own homes and he thanked them and promised to help bring back the area's beaches and famed atlantic city boardwalk. the late october storm killed 24 people and knocked out power for millions. some 600 people are still without electricity tonight. >>> also today, new york senator charles schumer called for an overhaul of the cell phone industry, after the massive failure in service during the storm. >> the goal is simple, that no matter what the disaster, there's uninterrupted cell phone service for our first responders and for our citizens who lost power and need food, need to report fires, need to communicate in every way. >> a quarter of cell phone users in the area lost service when sandy hit. senator schumer wants the fcc to require cell phone operators to have backup power and find other ways to keep service going during disasters. >
